Come Flame Me About My Necro
Hi. I just got Guild Wars. I've played maybe 10 hours spread over two characters. I'm a noob. It has already been said, so now you don't have to post it. Anyway, here is what I think I'd like my pve Elemental Necro to look like in the long run.
Energy Storage - 11 Aura of Restoration (6 out of 8 skills heal me) Glyph of Energy {E} (not actually linked but makes my stuff cost less) Blood Magic - 10 Awaken the Blood (now I have 12 Blood and 12 Curses) Signet of Agony (damage nearby foes, bleed nearby foes) Vampiric Gaze (sometimes I just get thirsty) Life Siphon (-3 pips for you, +3 for me) Curses - 10 Chilblains (damage nearby foes, poison nearby foes) Plague Sending (to make Signet of Agony and Chilblains work) There you have it. I hope Chilblains and Signet of Agony are able to crowd control like I'd intended. I thought about Unholy Feast, but didn't know if the recharge time on that would be too slow. What do you think? How can I make it better while maintaining the focus of pve crowd control? Thanks for your suggestions. |

Use MoP and warriors will love you. (apart from those who do elemental damage that is)

If you are an Elementalist primary, you should really look at using one of the elements, because you can then use runes to boost their power.
I would say, drop either curses or blood, and focus on an elemental tree with those points instead, boosted with runes. Chilbains requires you to be CLOSE, and you won't want to be without any defensive skills. (heals are not enough, not with that armor) |

I'm so sick of seeing every damn warrior hauling around a Fiery Dragon Sword.
That Fire Damage is just a pain in the butt. It doesn't help you, and it doesn't help me, my Mark of Pain and my Order of the Vampire are rendered useless by those bloody things! It's difficult to understand how much OotV helps out unless you're watching it at work. With henchmen (Thom, Stefan, and...uh...ranger girl... Reyna?) using their physical attacks, they each hit 15 HP harder than they normally would, plus they siphoned that HP to themselves to help Alesia and Lina. Stefan hits very fast, owing to his being a Sword user, and that extra 15 per hit works wonders against Golems. And when you have 3 people all focusing fire on one golem, and 3 of them are hitting for an extra 15, it really adds up. I was able to slaughter Glint with 7 henchmen (Lina got stuck behind a chest and didn't help out the entire fight) with the help of a constant OotV. None of us died. -sam P.S. Can you imagine the carnage if OotV affected Fiends? A huge army of undead all leeching life. Drooly. |

Yeah, thats why my warrior packs 4 max damage swords, one of which actually does *gasp* slashing damage! (The other 3 do Earth, Fire, and Ice damage respectively, while the slasher is Sundering 10/10). I mean it isn't expensive to pick up a basic max sword, I'm talking a Tribal blade or something, and then put it on another weapon set. Swing your pretty flaming sword all you want but when a necro takes it upon himself to use Order, bloody hell hit f4 and pick up that damage boost!

Drop Aura of Restoration and Glyph of Energy. Use Well of Power and Blood Ritual, instead. Switch Signet of Agony for Shadow Strike. I'd rather use Rend or Strip Enchantments than Chilblains.
Don't be afraid to go Necro as a primary class. The Necro's Scar armor will give you a bit more energy, to compensate for the loss of Energy Storage. Soul Reaping is very good in PvE. I'd say that Necro Armor + Necro Runes + Necro Hat + Not Being Tied to a Specific Secondary > Energy Storage, for PvE. |

curses and blood have there place but lets try and figure out what you WANT to do with this guy.
Firstly drop the energy storage skills so we have 2 blank spots ... 1 which is elite ... In PvE use ... my opinion ... you should use blood and throw in Well of Power. or for the quick boost of energy your self ... offering of blood. Well of Power is just damn nice to bring because you'll notice the party will love you when they see it. I mean who doesn't love a puddle. secondly I would agree to use 1 element ... so you only spread you skills across 3 with your power coming from your element. secondarys are secondary for a reason. You can only get a max of 12 before spells or weapon mods. If you want the necro stuff very bad ... go necro primary ... |

"school" your self a little, theres an elite version called just that, no exhaustion 20 instead of 15, i like it. But eh, you should probably just go main necro or something, =P(dont listen to me)
